Growing into Doula Work
My heritage and my own story as a mother have shaped who I am as a doula today. I was born the youngest of three siblings on a small island called Livingston off the coast of Guatemala to a Salvadoran mother and a Garifuna father from Guatemala and Belize.
Growing up I watched my mother serve our town as a midwife, helping many families safely bring their children into this world. By the age of 15 she began to take me along to births and I learned by her side. She taught me how each experience is unique, and I witnessed the absolute joy it gave her with each little life she guided into this world.

When I gave birth to my own children – one son and two daughters – I understood the blessing of birth on a new level, and began the path to my own vocation of supporting families in birth. I first began training as a Postpartum Doula in 2006.

Moving Forward as a Doula
It is my pleasure to work with the families I serve in their first weeks and months together with a new baby. I greatly enjoy coaching and guiding parents, and caring for these sweet bundles of joy. It means a lot to be that families often send me pics and updates as their children grow.
Over the coming years I look forward to not only supporting more families in our community, but also offering international traveling.
